Orul Wormbound is a Boss encountered in Legend of Grimrock 2. Prior to the game's events, he and his brother Xarant Wormbound betrayed the dragons served by the Wormbound Family by stealing a dragon egg and fleeing to the Isle of Nex. The Island Master granted them both immortality in exchange.
Battle[]
Orul's crypt, unlike that of his brother, spans an entire floor. The main chamber housing him contains three Windgates leading to subsections—the Laboratory, the Mausoleum, and the Sanctuary. A Skull Key must be obtained from each of them in order to begin the fight and obtain the Power Gem. When all three have been used on the locks, the pillar in front of the door will rise up, revealing Orul waiting inside.

Although the battle with Orul receives much more buildup, it is almost completely identical to the battle with Xarant, as the brothers use the same base monster. A Xeloroid will join the fight from behind a wall, but Orul has the same attacks, stats, and abilities. Naturally, he will also be immune to Poison and weak to Shock.
Orul will try to summon Zombies when the fight begins, as Xarant did. Unlike Xarant, he starts off inactive, and will be unable to do anything until the pillar has risen. Since the pillar is only a few steps away from any of the Skull Locks, you can move next to him before he can do anything, and he will prioritize attacking you over summoning. You will still have to deal with the Xeloroid, but you can prevent any other monsters from joining the battle.
Should you be overwhelmed, you can flee to one of the alcoves where the Windgates stood. They deactivate at the start of the fight, but the enemies have an odd difficulty navigating the layout; even if one wanders inside the loop, they may not detect your presence, even if they're standing next to you. This can help you patch up your team and pick the enemies off one by one.
