Xarant Wormbound is a Boss encountered in Legend of Grimrock 2. Prior to the game's events, he and his brother Orul Wormbound betrayed the dragons served by the Wormbound Family by stealing a dragon egg and fleeing to the Isle of Nex. The Island Master granted them both immortality in exchange.
Battle[]
Outside his crypt, an inscription reads "Chamber of Xarant Wormbound. Immortal champion of Nex." Standing on the pressure plate just inside will close the gate behind you, sealing you in. The moment you do so, Xarant will begin casting a spell which summons several Zombies to accompany him, then pick up his twin Longswords and begin the fight.

Xarant proves to be a powerful battle mage. Should you try to distance yourself from him, he may cast Ice Spikes on you, or close the distance with a leaping attack. He may also pause to summon additional Zombies if you've defeated any of the others. If you get surrounded and overwhelmed, you may want to take refuge in the western hallway leading to the Gold Lock; dodging will be impossible, but you will be fighting the creatures individually, and Xarant will be kept from using his ranged attacks. Upon Xarant's defeat, the gate leading outside will reopen, and he will drop his Longswords and the Amulet of Nergal.
As with all undead, Xarant is immune to Poison. Much like the similar Undead Soldier, he carries a weakness to Shock.
